A unique multidisciplinary, single-facility approach
The Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of infants, children, and adults through comprehensive coordinated treatment of craniofacial conditions resulting from birth defects, trauma, and disease.
Founded in 1938, the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic pioneered the comprehensive treatment of cleft lip, cleft palate and other craniofacial anomalies. The Clinic was the world’s first medical center dedicated exclusively to cleft treatment, and LCPC developed the team approach to treatment that is now the standard of care worldwide.
We are an American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association (ACPA) approved team. ACPA-approved teams are comprised of experienced and qualified professionals from medical, surgical, dental, and allied health disciplines working in an interdisciplinary and coordinated system. The purpose and goal of teams is to ensure that care is provided in a coordinated and consistent manner with the proper sequencing of evaluations and treatments within the framework of the patient’s overall developmental, medical, and psychological needs.
